Loved it: Charlie Wilson's War

The real Charlie Wilson
Saw "Charlie Wilson's War" last night with a couple of friends...
It was great!! Philip Seymore Hoffman is the most awesome actor ever. Jim doesn't really care for Tom Hanks, but I think he likes him a lot more after seeing the movie. I've always like Tom Hanks, PS...
...but the movie makes you wonder if things would have been different had the US helped stabilize Afghanistan after pushing out the Russians.

iI want to see this movie too! Was it particulary anti-Reagan? I heard that a bunch of the Reagan administration folks didn't care for it. I am surprised it was ever allowed to be shown. I'm not a lover of Reagan or republicans in general and I think I would really like this movie.

I went in with a blind eye, but I went with a couple of people who are much more politically minded, and they never mentioned that.

Heck yes we would have been better off helping stabalize Afghanistan. But you must remember..the same boneheaded thinking we are using to fight a "war" in a country where zero of the 9/11 terrorists came from was employed in the Cold War era. To borrow and paraphrase W...is our leaders learning?

Hey.. I stumbled on your blog while searching for something else. Busan is an awesome town. I lived in Daegu for awhile and spent some time in Busan after taking a jet boat from Japan.
