It's comment spam. The bane of all bloggers. Not necessarily a personal attack... I tell myself this because I used to get hundreds a day... until my fancy Wordpress plugin banished them all.
Michelle, blogger has a feature to prevent this. You have to turn on the feature in the dashboard that forces the comment-leaver to read some mangled characters. Computer programs (like the comment spam you had) can't accomplish this task (at this time).
It's in the dashboard under settings-> comments and is called "word verification." Here's a link to the help page on it:
